Conscious Costa Rica

In 2007 Costa Rica set the commendable goal to be carbon-neutral for the country’s 200th birthday in 2012. Just three years after the pledge was made Costa Rica has almost reached its goal, 90% of its electricity is derived from renewable sources using hydropower, wind and geothermal. There are plans for solar power, electric buses and trains and eventually move to bio-ethanol fuel and clean bio-diesel for cars. Continue reading
