The Government is authorising an expenditure of more than 12 million euros for upgrading and improvement of tourist spaces in different areas of the archipelago. There are to be four authorised expenditures in Las Palmas, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote and Tenerife. Lanzarote is to begin improvements to the urbanisation of the first phase of the Avenida Las Playas in Puerto del Carmen known locally as “The Strip”.

If you visit Puerto del Carmen you will not be able to miss ‘The Strip’. This is the main road that runs along the beach. It runs the full length of town and is where ninety per cent of all the businesses are to be found. Recently the main road has been turned into a one way street to allow for wider pedestrian areas.
