Puerto del Carmen was Lanzarote’s first tourist destination. Located only a few minutes drive south of the airport it is far enough away not to hear the planes but close enough to get off the plane and into your accommodation in no time at all.
The town extends from its northern most beach called Los Pocillos five kilometers south along the coast to the original ‘Old Town’ fishing harbor. One road follows the coastal route and is known as the strip.
